Michael Turkiewicz is the founder and President of FuneralNet located in Portland, Oregon. Prior to founding FuneralNet, Mr. Turkiewicz was Director of Sales for Prequest Inc., an aggressive pre-arrangement sales and marketing organization.

Mr. Turkiewicz entered the death care industry with Hillenbrand Industries' pre-arrangement insurance subsidiary, The Forethought Group, the country's largest pre-need funeral insurance company. As a top sales representative, Mr. Turkiewicz developed marketing and advertising programs for many funeral home clients, including direct mail, newspaper ads/inserts, radio, television and telemarketing campaigns.

Mr. Turkiewicz is a frequent speaker at funeral director and cemeterian conventions around the country as well as author of many industry articles for trade publications.

Jim Durbin

Jim Durbin is a graduate of Oregon State University with a BS in Computer Science. After graduating from OSU in 1993 he worked for the Oregon State University Extension Service for a year and a half under a federal grant to set up e-mail and Internet connections for remote farms around Oregon. In addition to on-site installations, Mr. Durbin was in charge of the OSUES web site and was the assistant system administrator for the Novel 3.12 network and three Sun Sparc servers.

In the spring of 1995 Mr. Durbin went to work with Prequest Inc., a direct-mail and telemarketing company for funeral homes in Corvallis, Oregon. His position with Prequest was as manager of the MIS department. He was system administrator for the Novel 3.12 network and a two million-lead database. While working with Prequest, Mr. Durbin developed custom VB applications to automate processes between the regional sales managers, the telemarketing department and the in-house print shop. He also designed a complete sales and delivery program for a multi-regional television campaign.

Mr. Durbin began with FuneralNet in 1996 as Webmaster. He is now the CTO for FuneralNet's custom programming and database application development. Through FuneralNet Mr. Durbin has completed or managed the completion of over 200 web sites.
